About Big Dawgz United
History
Big Dawgz United was established in 2005 by a small group of weightlifting enthusiasts that befriended each other on MySpace. Coming from diverse backgrounds, the small band of lifters were able to share training advice with each other and advance their training. Over the following 18 months, the group expanded its membership to 150 like-minded people. Due to some circumstances, BDU disbanded and went underground in 2007. In 2008, the founder of BDU, along with a few members, decided to revive the group and take it to new level.Mission Statement
Big Dawgz United is a group of weight lifters, strength athletes, and mixed martial artists committed to promoting the positive image of those who have a deep commitment to intense weight lifting. Big Dawgz United believes that the stereotype that the rest of society places on those who are faithful to and consistent in going to the gym, which implies that all those who lift weights are nothing more than steroid-pumped “meatheads” and do not have any other education, is completely false and needs to be wiped from existence. Big Dawgz United believes that a serious weight lifter or “big dawg” does not completely focus on developing the physical person, but rather on the complete person – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Big Dawgz United has realized that its members are not average human beings and were created by the Almighty God to be bigger, stronger, and more intelligent than the average human being. However, the members of Big Dawgz United refuse to hoard that gifts and intelligence that we have been blessed with. Big Dawgz United believes in helping out their fellow man in any way possible, which includes giving advice in lifting and life, giving to charitable organizations, or just being there when someone needs some support.
